contributions, you must:<\/span><\/p><ul><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Have a total super balance of less than $500,000 at the end of 30 June of the previous financial year; and<br \/><br \/><\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Have made concessional contributions in the financial year that exceed your general concessional contributions cap.<br \/><br \/><\/span><\/li><\/ul><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The amount that you can carry forward depends on the amount that you contributed in the previous financial years, starting from 2018-19 onwards.\u00a0<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">You can carry forward caps from up to 5 previous financial years. This brings Robert\u2019s total cap to $43,700 for the FY20.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In the FY20, Robert receives $6,300 in super guarantee contributions again.
